  1. Because if you look back on history...all these millenia of lies and deceit have gotten this world to where it is now (not talkin about tech wise, more like society-wise).  Why so many people don't trust other people, and why so many people find it easy to betray others.

If you are honest to yourself and to others then that's one less thing you have to worry about.  And also, lies cause stress and stress makes you die faster.

  2. It's not.  You'll be much more likable if you tell people what they want to hear and sweep problems under the rug.

  3. because lies always comes back to bite you in the tale. you reap what you sow.

  4. Well, you want be stressed out trying to keep up with what you said the last time so you want get caught up with.

  5. chill23 is wrong:

    1. The American people obviously enjoy the h**l out of being lied to.

    2. If this were really true no politician in this country would be able to speak after a couple of campaigns. On the other hand, if it's slow enough it could explain Ted Kennedy.

Honesty is best because not much good can come from being lied to, except in certain special circumstances.

  6. Outside of trying to keep your stories straight - and trying to remember who or what else is part of the lie - it's the moral, ethical thing to do.

Sounds trite, but people remember who lied to them and it's very hard to re-gain their trust.

    Besides, you will sleep better.

    Honesty is the best policy.

  7. Yes if a friend ask you if they look bad you should say yes because they might embarrass themselves and you'll have a fight later.

  8. 1- I've never met anyone that enjoys being lied to.

2- Everytime you're not honest, I think you damage yourself mentally.

  9. Odd. I would rather question why honesty isn't *the* truly best policy? The world is corrupted.
