Why is hydroelectricity good ?

what are the benefits, advantages and good things about hydroelectricity ?

The US Gov't has some good sites on existing hydro plants.

The pros are that no fossil fuels are required. Aside from the facilities overhead, the power is free. It does require significant bodies of water and land for that water.  As long as the water levels are within range, there is little down side.

The good things are it is a renewable energy source.  In other words it will never run out.  It doesn't give off green house gasses like non-renewable sources such as coal, oil, gas do.

it has the potential to produce the most power, more reliably than solar or wind power if you have the right site. This means having access to a river or creek that has a high enough flow to produce useable power for a good part of the year.

Its good seeing someone who cares for mother earth. Hydroelectricity is a wonderful thing and has been proved the most useful invention for us. It saves many many things. It saves money,. requires low maintenance. Its is naturally occuring so no investment needed for it.  Water is tremendously present all around us, so instead of wasting it we can have a better utilization of it.
