Why is india still called a third world country. I live in Mumbai and it is a beautiful place ?

India has good infrastructure. I have been to cities Goa, Chennai, Bangalore. They are beautiful. India economy is roaring at 9.4% growth.There are IIMs & IITs fo the best education in the world. We have Ambanis ,Lakshmi Mittal..

I dont know why is it still called a '3rd world'

  1. It is strictly an economic term

    9.4% growth is historically unsustainable for a long time without causing severe inflation.
