Why is is that when it rains, all the water in the clouds doesn't just splash down?

  1. I believe the formation of droplets can occur at different speeds which are also affected by temperature, air pressure, air currents, etc. Which will create drizzle, light, steady rain or sudden heavy downpours.


  2. beacause as condensation takes place they form water droplets and pour down

    but there are cases when there is a splash down too!

  3. Because there are updrafts and it isn't til the drops are heavy enough that these droplets will fall to the earth as rain.

  4. because when the water dropplets get large enough they fall, they dont have the time to come together and form one large droplet
