Why is is when I took my braces off my teeth looked much whiter?

For some reason my teeth looked a lot whiter. They were much more yellow before I got them off. Why is this? I'm curious

  1. u probably took care of them more when u had the braces on than off so it turned out whiter


  2. hmm i really dont believe you, cuz my friend had braces and her teeth looked so freaking yellow they were making me puke ><
