  1. because in the north rugby is not a popular sport in general, france and wales apart, you just have to look at the gates at games.

when england won the world cup there was all this fuss about how rugby was going to take over football and those nasty yobish players, didnt happen, was never going to happen either.

and on a tangent from that rugby players and fans are just as big of ***** as football, its just there middle class.

  2. Yeah, and we the argies are better than you in spite of the IRB stupid obvious attempt to hold us back. allow us enter the quad nations! (tri-nations plus argentina) and we could reach #1!

I mean, we beat the best the six nations has to offer, in their turf, in the opening match, against all odds. Well guess what? The pumas dont rely on odds!

  3. well there teams are taller, more well built, play a better running game, and just are physically more impressive specimens

compare for example peter stringer 5ft nothing to fly halfs from New Zealand or south africa

  4. It's not just a game for public school boys down under.

If you can imagine that every kid who plays football in Britain, played rugby instead, then of course we'd have some decent teams.

The national game of NZ is rugby. The national game in UK is football.

    Obvious really I guess.

  5. because the only place in the northern hemisphere that rugby is played in  the UK and India, whilst in the southern hemisphere.

we got Australia, New Zealand,  South Africa, Zimbabwe, etc & c

  6. fresh air mate......

    womens big juggs....

  7. Republic of South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Argentina are all doing very well and will top their respective pools.  Fiji, Tonga and Samoa might struggle to qualify for the finals but you never know.

I don't really know what it is, just good timing I guess.

  8. So aussie only won by 12 points and lost the second half...and you call that dominating?

    pfffft.

I see your point but I just thinks its  crazy...Wales defeated Canada (a team where the gap between canada and wales is aussie like..ie as great as assie is over wales) and Canada were congratulated and wales were slagged off through the media constantly.

Wales put a far better performance in than the canadians did against us, against a team further ahead of us than we are against canada..and it's all doom and gloom... and aussie are congratulated as world cup contenders?

Where if they were welsh and beat a team where the gap is as great and only won by ten or twelve points they would be blyddi mocked.

  9. Nipper answered it nicely. But for one thing  - there are less

registered rugby players in nz than in Eng, France, S A, so

if numbers are the primary factor then the final should be Eng vs France.

But it will be NZ vs S A

  10. Culture

In NZ they live breath eat and drink rugby. I've seen bigger crowds at inter school matches in NZ than between top clubs in the UK.

In UK, and France there is very little sport in mainstream schools and very poor transition from school to club.

I'd bet a high proportion of English rugby comes from public school

  11. Quite simple really.

Bigger, faster, more skillfull and play as a team for each other.

Don't play as many games and the people who run it know what they are doing.
