Why is it, the Only time people in Chicago is happy is when the Sox or Cubs are winning?

Isn't there anything else in all of Chicago, Illinois, or the Midwest to make those people happy? Or is baseball all they have?

I am from Chicago, and I know what you mean.

I noticed it more since moving away from there (to Portland), it is kind of funny now that you mention that.

Chicagoians are definitely creatures of habit. Most have professional businessman type jobs, and have to drive home in traffic all day.

There is just a lot of sports history in Chicago, and we like to hold onto it.

Lately, unfortunately, non of our professional sports teams have been doing well- so we're sad!

We grew up watching Michael Jordan, maybe we're just a little spoiled.
