  2. Good question.

The proponents of Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) use only that data that they claim suggests that man is causing Global Warming.  They ignore the bigger picture which is really the cause of "natural" warming and cooling cycles of the Earth...  And that these causes do not include putting too much plant food (CO2) in the area, or as the vegetarians claim.. Too much cow flatulent...

In my opinion, AGW is propaganda.  It is well known that the Earth has gone through a number of "natural" warming and cooling cycles in the course of its history..

And yet, AGWism claims that somehow, all of a sudden,  man is in charge of the Global climate and is doing a poor job of managing it.  This rhetoric might result in well funded grants and well paid speaking engagements but it can hardly be called "science".

  3. Which natural forcing are you talking about?

We understand anthropogenic forcing because the greenhouse effect is well-understood.

We understand solar forcing pretty well because we've been monitoring solar output directly with satellites for 30 years, and there are proxies to reconstruct it in the past.

We don't understand water vapor or clouds very well because they're a complex factor.  Clouds can cause cooling by reflecting sunlight, but they can also cause warming by trapping heat.  So it's hard to know what their overall effect will be.  Especially since global warming causes increased evaporation, which causes more clouds to form, but it also causes them to dissipate more quickly, so they're not around to reflect sunlight for very long.

So it just depends on the forcing.  There's nothing inherent about man-made forcing that makes it easier to understand than natural forcings.

  4. I see it as - they believe they understand about anthropogenic forcing.  Whereas the 0.0038% of CO2 in the 'Lower' atmosphere can only have it's very minor warming effects near ground level.

Think about previous ice ages.  Why did the earth cool off so much?  Could the lithosphere have been sealed to not allow the heat from within the earth to warm oceans?  The IMF (Interplanetary Magnetic Forces) from the Sun effected the earth's magnetosphere and magma flow - opening up venting in the ocean - warming waters and driving (Forcing) earth's climate.

It's not Global Warming, it's Ocean Warming

FYI  -  I own an UV meter and monitor the UV emissions from the sun for my own health.  UV emissions have not varied more than a few 4-6% with or without Sunspots.

If you bother to study UV, you should discover it's extreme importance for our health = the opposite of what science tells you.

  5. Global warming is a selective science.  If a study goes against what you believe, it's dismissed as being funded by Exxon.

With this approch, man is always going to be the cause of so called "global warming."

  6. Crystal clear to me...   We know more about anthropogenic forcing (in terms of temperature) because we can keep track of how much we emit by knowing how much we used.  Knowing what kind of emissions we emit, and how much makes it easy to calculate how much of an impact we supposedly have.  I dont think they understand much about climate variables though.

I recently heard there is a 100% difference in UV output from solar minimum to solar maximum.  The impact of higher UV rays isnt fully understood by the scientific community.  It is theorized that more uv rays causes more ozone to form in the upper atmosphere which traps more heat.  Sunspots and higher uv, as well as xray radiation have a link and we dont understand it yet.
