  1. I thought it was 4 years to every cat year?

Cats live around 20, humans 80...?

  2. it isn't quite that clear cut actually- a one year old cat is the same as an 18 year old...then it staggers and roughly equates to one yr for every 7...but thats very rough..i know what you mean thoug!

  3. yes i think that's the ratio

its not the same as use cause we live much longer and they take the average lifespan of a Human and divide it by the lifespan of a cat and thats how you get the number

its also because they age 7 times faster it takes us years to grow out of infancy but a kitten is only a kitten for a couple months

  4. yea someone else posted 5.5 yrs per 1 human year.

Dogs are 7 years.- 1 human

  5. Its 5.5 years

  6. b/c humans live to 80 and cats live to be 15-20. Its to like "scale" the age so you can get a better idea of how "old" the cat actually us.

  7. I believe its because of growing rate. How long it is till they reach adolesence, puberty, full growth. Cats and dogs go through these changes alot faster then humans. I doubt it could be scaled to a humans life because other animals such as turtles and whales also go through these changes faster and some can live over 100 human years old.

  8. that is dogs, cats is a little different.  google cat years and you should be able to come up with a chart that will tell you.
