Why is it I want people to do well but they do not seem to oblige?

  1. Because they have to do the work for it to happen.  I want all my kids and grandkids to do well.  I will continue to encourage them.


  2. Having free will does that to people.  You can't expect that others will always want to conform to your expectations.  People have their own ideas about what they'd like to do, how they do things, and why. It's nice of you to care, but allow others some room to make their own choices.  That's how people grow and learn.

  3. I'm a mom, and I know firsthand how difficult it is to try talking 'sense' into someone else.  The bottom line is, they are not going to do it if they are not ready to.  There is no way to force them, and that would only create problems, anyway.

    It's great that you wish for others to do well, but until they get it into their own heads that it is what they truly want...they're unlikely to oblige.  Sorry.
