Turkey didn't "conquer" Cyprus. It wasn't a holy war or something. Ottomans conquered Cyprus because Cyprus has always been a strategical island for trade routes in the Mediterrenean.

What Turkey did was to "intervene" in the island, so that the Greek Cypriots wouldn't complete their ethnic cleansing and annex the island to Greece.

I think creating luxury hotels in deserts and attracting tourists is a good business vision. Kudos for the far thinkers among Arabs!

What they lack is liberty, equality and fraternity, and I'm sure they will get there one day.
