When it should be Palin vs Biden? If we are going to argue vice president choices here shouldn't it be between those two?

I know it is alot easier for some of you to slam Obama. I think it is because as far as vice presidential choices go Obama made the better choice.

So really if we are going to be going back and forth here shouldn't it be between Palin and Biden not Obama and Palin?

  1. The democrats have made it Palin vs Obama due to their emphasis on the experience factor. By adhering to this focus, they are throwing the election to McCain by default. I love it.

    McCain in '08!

  2. Indeed.

    Both are the 'gimmick' candidates.

Can anyone remember Geraldine Ferraro's running mate?

  3. It should be McCain against "no experience Obama".

Palin has much more experience that Obama. Obama's experience is running for election.

  4. I've asked this question since McCain announced her and people started pinning the 2 against each other.  The only thing that I can think of is the age, and experience. Even though Obama is clearly more experienced and has helped tackled much larger issues then having enough snow for the annual quad race??

Either way I agree. Obama should be compared to McCain, Palin to Biden, if it is about experience and not about the issues, sure, send us into h**l for another 4 years with McCain and Palin. But when it comes down to having a better America, who is going to help Americans better our future, vote Obama/Biden 08!

  5. Pretty funny when the Dems have to put the GOP VP up against their Top Pick to attempt to diminish her qualifications.  So let me get this straight, the GOP B-team is good enough to be compared to the Dem A-team?  This isn't hippocracy, its a win in November...remember the old saying, " if your are taking flak, then you must be over the target."

  6. i guess your right but palin and obama have more in common because they're both inexperienced

  7. They tried running McCain against him, but it wasn't working.

  8. Because they're so busy trying to show that Palin has 21 months of "executive experience" over Obama and therefore, she's better qualified.

But based on this knowledge, that would mean that Palin is even better qualified than John McCain.

    Right?

It amazes me how 21 months of running a state of 700,000 people is seened as having more experience than a person who has been a senator for 11 years.

    So pathetic.

  9. McCain's choice of Palin was designed to cause the stir that it did, take away momentum from Obama's great acceptance speech, and take the spotlight off of McCain's non-competitiveness. A distraction, the usual McCain agenda because he has nothing to offer but the ambition to be POTUS and keep the status quo for corporate America.

Go ahead & thumb this answer down.

  10. Because Palin and Obama are the two pawns of their respective parties. Obama was nominated because he was black and Palin was nominated because she was a woman.

  11. Obama will be assassinated soon if he becomes President or McCain will die soon if he becomes President. That's why it's really Biden vs Palin.

  12. When given the option, you fight the foe you think you can defeat.

    Now you know.

Don't feel bad.  Nobody told Pres. Bush this either.

  13. We love Palin.

  14. in desperation, people grasp for straws to find anything they can to slam the other side.that's why you have low life's grasping at stuff like Obamas ears or McCain's age.unfortunately, this kind of thing takes away from important stuff like issues, and turns into a forum of why we shouldn't vote for somebody, not WHY we should vote for the other.

  15. Well, taken it was Hillary vs. Barach before..  I suppose it has to do with the first major black and female candidates.

It's just a lot of publicity if you ask me.

  16. Exactly BUT the problem is McCain is no match for Obama so they are hoping that Palin can somehow derail his train as it gathers speed!

Pretty embarrassing to be a Republican right now...

  17. Because race vs. gender is a better media circus than two old white guys who represent Washington politics as usual.

  18. You are right...

  19. The Dems realize that Biden brought nothing to the Obama but trouble so they have to compare something else. It doesn't matter that they are comparing apples and oranges.

  20. In terms of getting elected Palin was clearly a better choice.

Palin brings small town voters, a lot of blue collar workers, virtually the entire Evangelical Christian base, as well as a huge number of gun owners.  I think she is plus 10 million votes for McCain.

Biden doesn't add to Obama's vote total.  If anything overlooking a female candidate did a lot of damage to Obama.

A lot of women are still pretty upset over this.  I think a lot of them had resigned themselves to swallowing their pride and voting Democrat.

    h**l hath no fury...

  21. Because McCain is living on borrowed time.

His father had been dead two years at John's age. So Palin will be running the country if they win.

So in those terms, it is only fitting.

  22. yes, it should be Obama vs McCain

But people like to compare the two older people with the two younger people, I guess.

  23. The reason for comparison between Obama and Palin is due to the fact Palin is only a heartbeat away from Presidency should McCain succumb to health issues or death.  Their level of experience (or lack thereof) is a factor which links them for debate.

  24. This is because most of the criticism against Governor Palin is regarding her experience level.  Sure, many Republicans might find her a little too inexperienced to lead the ticket there is no doubt she is suitable to be Vice President.  However, it is enormously hypocritical for Obama supporters to cast aspersions on Palin as being too inexperienced yet claim that Obama is experienced enough to start out as President.

She has at least four years to learn the ropes.  How long would Obama have?  Besides, when we discuss Palin we are discussing a future President.  When we are discussing Biden we are not.  I refer to his dismal show in this last Primary.

Everyone realizes that if McCain wins, the next election may well be Hillary Clinton against Sarah Palin.  What  match-up that will be!

  25. Because Obama does not hold a candle to McCain.

Actually Obama does not hold a candle to Palin either.

Obama has it backwards. Obama the candidate for President is the one with no experience.

At least Palin not only has far more experience and better quality experience. (she is the governor of a state), she is the candidate for Vice President, not President.

Actually the Democratic ticket should be Biden with the nomination for President with Obama as the candidate for Vice President.

The Vice Presidency is a training place for inexperienced people to become future Presidents.

Obama should be the Vice Presidential Candidate not the Presidential Candidate. That would give Obama at least a few years to learn the ropes.

Palin as a Vice Presidential Candidate is in a training position to become a future President. That is exactly what Obama should be doing.

Remember this is a race for the Presidency, not the Vice Presidency.

Also Remember it is John McCain vs. Barack Obama.

John MCcain is the one with the experience.

Barack Obama is the green one without experience and without a track record.

  26. What do you mean? Like when Democrats say that Palin isn't qualified because she doesn't have experience and we counter that she has more experience than Obama and he's running at the TOP of the ticket? THAT'S why! I've seen on here plenty of Democrats condemning Palin's choice for lack of experience yet you've chosen a guy to run for the top of your ticket with the same amount of experience if not less in terms of running a government. It's just hypocritical. You can't select a guy to run for the top job that has no experience and then criticize the other party's choice for the second job for not having experience. It makes you look foolish.

  27. Yes you are right.  And so is Obama because he is not putting his focus on Palin.  He is focusing on McCain.  After all, it is McCain who is running for President against Obama.  Biden will be the one to go after Palin.  Obama showed wise judgment by picking Biden.  McCain did not.  He is pandering the women voters.  Obviously, McCain really does think women are dumb!  This move is so obviously a political one.  If he wanted a woman, then why not Condi Rice?  He could have played the gender card and race card.

  28. Because McCain is old. So people scrutinize the VP candidate more in this case.

  29. McCain is OLD and may not live as long he mentioned doing only 1 term for that same reason.

  30. Because people can put Obama in perspective when they see another young politician with more executive experience and the Governor of the largest state in the union with very unique challenges.
