Why is it a big deal if the Alaska governor's daughter has a child at 17 years old?

There is nothing wrong with trailer parks, trailers or anything else that may have wheels and keeps you from being homeless beggars and thieves like the rest of them who have lost their will to live and the ambition to aspire for more.

I thought that Palin's strong conservative morals were one of the key things that conservatives love about her...

if her own daughter is immoral by conservative standards... what does that say about the family? conservatives say family is important and an issue...

this is what conservatives say is important... so by conservative standards it is important...

and s*x outside of marriage and having a child outside of marriage are both immoral actions... according to them...

It isn't a campaign issue by any stretch. The "big deal" is the unrelenting attack on a 17 year old girl who isn't campaigning for any thing.

First I think Palin is a c**p mother for dragging her daughter through all of this.  I would never expose my child to all the ridicule her daughter will be exposed to.  She should have said no.

Apparently it has alot to do with how we are going to face the problems with the ecomony, providing adaquate healthcare and jobs for our citizens, and what to do about the War in Iraq and Illegal Immigration.

Outside of the ridicule her mother is bringing on her own daughter, it's not an issue for me, at all.

However it is interesting that her mother who could almost be seen as a fundamentalist, turns out a daughter who doesn't follow in Mom's footsteps. Kind of like the old story of the preacher's daughter.

The big deal is that her mother - the Governor - is instrumental in trying to keep s*x education out of the school and teaching children about abstinence.  Her critics and national health organization throughout the country have argued that ignoring sexual health will not stop adolescents from exploring their sexual curiosity.  It appears that the Governor was very wrong.
