Why is it a lot of bad bands from a lot of places are getting famous??? what do people see in them????

wtf how do they get record deals it makes me feel like a band that is bad but popular on myspace with no musical talent gets a contract honestly wtf ive seen better talent at a kids talent show or my local bands

i recently saw millionaires and brokencyde live and they earned my respect from the show they put on.

they really do know how to put on a show.

i do agree that they are talentless, but their confidence and witty lyrics draw people toward them.

plus they make things fun.

they are some of the best artists to dance to.

and they only get record lables because it is what the people want.

Aw, a lot of bands are bad, and they do get record deals (jonas brothers) but some of the ones you named aren't bad though. They just appeal to people with different taste. I really like the medic droid. People ask me "wtf? how the h**l can you listen to that ****? it's all screaming? (my metal)" and I'm like "pfft, it's good!" Music isn't really something than can be grouped into bad and good... because there are so many different definitions of bad and good.

Well, a lot of people like them because they're apart of some trend. Or the people in the band are hot, to people. Like Millionaires? A bunch of "hot scene queens"? Girls are going to listen to them and think they're really cool. It's just all about the image.

Because it's colorful, uncomplicated and real easy to sell to 13 year olds!

Though I actually like Brokencyde and my gf is a Metro Station fan. Yeah I'm not afraid to say it!

Everyone has their own opinions of what's good and what's bad.

For example you don't like the Jonas Brothers or Fall Out Boy and I like them both lol

You can't really categorize bands into being good or bad, because you don't decide what everyone in the world likes.

But I'm sure lots of people wonder how bands they don't like ever make it big

Yeah, it's sad really. There are a lot of talented bands out there. Bands such as Goodbye Etc., The Wisers, Fiver, Better Luck Next Time, Owl City, Jamestown Story, Look Closer, on and on and on.

They're all on Myspace, so if you want, check them out and see what I'm talking about. Owl City especially. He's an amazing songwriter.

The first poster answered this well. Today's music isn't about what it's supposed to be. People forget it's music and only concentrate on image. If your band doesn't have a gimmick now a days or a certain look about them you can forget getting signed. Like the old addage says.."s*x sells" and if you can look hot in a poster,magazine, or music video make some song with a catchy chorus and versus that seem to appeal to today's youth..you're going to make millions.

Well. All bands have a specific genre. Maybe many people like their songs and we can't generalize music :)

But I agree with you. As far as I know, they are all one song/album wonders. They just die out after that.

We have the stupidity of bands like FOB & Metro GAYtion, breeding the stupidity of other bands (I use the term VERY loosely) such as the Jo-hos & Brokencyde, all of which exposes the stupidity of Jeffree Star, and all the other idiots who think just because people stare it means they should keep doing what they're doing ...where do these people come from? I figure they have to be missing a chromosome or lacking an essential gene for common sense, it's not music to me...it's just incoherent babble...kinda like Prez Bush w/out the speech problems.

I know there are better bands here where I live & I live 20 miles away from the nearest city, some of our local bands have more talent in their pinky fingers than all of these moronic nimrods combined.
