Why is it acceptable to blow up a living child but not acceptable to abort an unborn fetus?

I see many people on here that are all for war but completely angered about abortions. You do realize that living children are being blown up as a result of war. What makes this right and abortion wrong?

War and Abortion...both are choices. Lets face it, war has been a motivator, a destructor, a unifier, genocidal, necessary, unnecessary and has been around since the dawn of time. As long as Human Kind inhabits the Earth, there will always be War. Sad, but true. Abortion is pretty small scale in comparison to the ravages of War.

Because they think that the children they are blowing up are horrible, scary terrorists, while the fetus they save hasn't had a chance at life, and therefore will be Christian, white, male, and conservative.

if you think that the war the US is conducting on two fronts right now is in any way a targeted war in which there are no civilian (including child) casualties, you are wrong. just because a war is not "total war," modern warfare which consists of heavy air strikes and urban warfare inevitably includes civilian (and child) casualties. just today, the UN found that the US killed 60 children last month in "targeted" airstrikes in afghanistan (link below).

and while there are some child soldiers in the conflicts we're in, it would be incredibly naive and callous to say that because some children are forced to fight, all children's deaths there are justified.

unfortunately this is often the perspective that i have witnessed in the pro-life community: care and concern for the unborn, little compassion for those born (in poverty) or for children around the world. if pro-life people really wanted to end abortions, they would support cheap and easy availability of birth control and comprehensive s*x ed in our schools: two scientifically proven methods that reduce the amount of unplanned pregnancies in the first place. until i see pro-life people outraged at abstinence only education and the lack of birth control options available to those without health insurance, it's hard to take their claims seriously that they are really concerned with actually minimizing the amount of abortions preformed.

That is stupid, and abortion is much more costly than birth control pills. Planned parent hood offers free birth control, condoms and check ups.

I think in the case of rape or incest abortion is acceptable, but in the case of little Susie going and getting nailed and Bobby letting it fly, thats bullshit, if you are responsible enough to be having s*x then you are responsible enough to take on the chance of having a child. Further more, children being born into poverty is not an option. These people she use protections, once again a box of condoms 10.00 im sure and abortion is much more expensive than that.

Further more, how many children were killed unexpectedly in the world trade center, when we were not even at war. I'm sure the united states is not going to other countries with the though of killing children on the mind, does it happen yes. What are we going to do nothing, You should just be happy that war isn't on our soil.

I'm split ticket, with plently more liberal than conservative views, but jesus christ some of you liberals are just as obnoxious as the republicans.

I totally agree with you. People say they care about kids. How come it's better to not abort a fetus before it becomes a baby, then make his/her life miserable!? Not all orphans are beig adopted by Brangelina.

Many of the living so called babies are trained to carry bombs.  We don't go out looking to kill Innocent kids.  Unlike abortion where you as a mother is saying "Go ahead and kill this baby inside me".  Sin can hurt real bad.

Yeah.  Republicans rarely support anything that might cost them money.  Like healthcare.  It's easy to support the rights of an unborn ball of cells because it's cheap.  Ask those same republicans to pay for healthcare for the pregnant mom because she's poor and they start frothing at the mouth.

Not all war is total war (which is what you described). Killing innocent children IS wrong, whether it be in total war or abortion.

Here comes "women's rights blah blah choice blah blah not a child", etc. And how dare we not allow you to choose to kill an unborn child? How dare we think of the rights of that child...how dare we disregard the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence...how dare we let you be so naive to think your social interests are above that of the life of a child...

EDIT: Why "22 Year Old"? Why is it better to allow the child to live with a "miserable life" than to be aborted? First off, isn't it a little naive to think you KNOW their life is going to be miserable? Physical ailments and mental ailments? There have been cases of the doctors being wrong. Moreover, even if they have some ailment, who is to say that they are deemed not worthy of living?

EDIT: Montcalm, I did not say I condoned nor condemned the US war. Total war is when you cause damage to non-military people/buildings, etc. I do disagree with the US military killing children, but that is NOT the essence of war. That is just an unfortunate byproduct of this war.
