Are the networks too busy covering up for the Dems and trying to spin Obama's opposition to the surge and his saying it would fail and lead to more casualties?

  1. It's not. New revelations come from a variety of sources. The difference is that the major news sources are more careful about what they say than some of the outlets you mention. The Enquirer lives on the edge, and has been successfully sued for its coverage at times.

ABC, NBC and CBS do more than their share in this department when it comes to breaking stories. And the New York Times and Wall Street Journal probably do more of this than any print outlet, despite ideological differences on the editorial page.
