  1. During the day the air over the land heats much more than the air over the water.  As a result the heated air rises and the pressure drops.  The atmosphere compensates by moving air from over the cooler water inland.  This is known as a sea breeze.

    The hot air over the land rises and the cool air over the water

    rushes in to replace it.
