  1. bc your scalp can get irritated. it has nothing to do with how the color catches its all about your natural oils protecting your scalp from getting irritated and drying out.

  2. I don't think it's necessarily "bad" to shampoo your hair before coloring it, but dye takes better when your hair is dirty.

  3. Never heard of that..if it's wet, it's bad and the color won't work as well

  4. The colour sticks better to 'dirty' hair. When you shampoo your getting rid of the all natural oils in your hair that the colour sticks too.

  5. you want the oils in your hair to protect it from drying out.

  6. because you need your hairs nautral oil in. the dye has chems that work with the oils

  7. i recently colored my hair blonde and my mom said i should not have washed it because the color would take longer to settle into my hair, and it did

  8. The natural oils in your hair help your follicles to lock in the color. If you wash right before you color is your hair won't have it's own natural oils in it to help accept whatever color you use.

  9. as far as i know its because if you wash your hair before you colour, the dye will not stick and you wont get the most out of the colour....but im not too sure....sorry i couldnt be more helpful

  10. because your hair and scalp contains natural oils that help protect it from environmental and other dangers.  when you wash it, you wash away those oils temporarily and thus if you were to wash your hair and then immediately apply color, it could be damaging.  wait to color at least 24 hours after a shampooing.

  11. shampoo dries your hair out and putting color on top can break your hair off or cause serious damage

  12. your hair has to be dry to color but dirty or not does not matter. the reason for not shampooing immediately before a color is you may scratch you scalp, and the peroxide in the color may irritate it. it has nothing to do with the "natural oils" that the other answers gave you.
