  1. it`s not!

  2. I asked the same question.  It's pretty much the less energy you use the less the power plants need to produce.  And the less pollution they create.  I think.

  3. FYI- wasting electricity is bad for the environment. Coal is an unrenewable resource- so unlike (lets say) wind, you cannot get more of it once its gone. The more electricity you waste, the more coal is being used!

Here are some tips to SAVE electricity:

    1.          Turn off your lights when you leave the house or wherever you live. Also, when you leave a room.

    2.          Instead of turning on a light switch that uses, like, 4 bulbs or 3, 5, (you get the point), turn on 1-bulb lamps.

    3.         Use flourescent lightulbs.

    The environment will thank you!

  4. You can afford to, and so can i, but our planet can't

Every time you leave the TV on and walk out the room, you are putting Co2  into the atmosphere.

My bet is you are american, and from my holiday over there this month you guys don't seam to care with your gas guzzerling cars and restaurants with air con at 32 degrees F.

America should want to lead the world into a new, greener time, but in fact, you guys are killing this planet the most out of any nation in the world, and that is a stone cold fact.

To answer your question... So our kids and theres and the generation after that still have a planet to live on.

  5. selfish idiot.

  6. It is bad because it isn't just you that pays for it.  First off, if you have the money to be throwing away, let me give you my address and you can send it to me.  But seriously, it takes energy to make electricity.  The process is using up resources.  There is a limited amount and when you waste it you waste what you may need in the future.

  7. It's not about how much money you can afford to waste, it's about the effects on the planet.  Electricity has to be generated, which takes natural resources.

  8. Electricity is not an ongoing source, lightning is but electricity isn't. Its important to try and use as little as possible every day. So when you get up in the morning, open the curtains, don't turn on a light. And use the money you saved to buy energy efficient light bulbs.

  9. because you are not paying the full costs.

for example, when you buy a burger at McDonalds, does that give you the right to discard the wrapper on the sidewalk.  i mean, you did buy it.

however, someone has to come along behind you, and clean up.

it's the same way with energy today.  you're not paying for the cost of cleanup.

  10. For one, do you think that society as a whole is ever going to move forward in any measure if we waste what resources we currently have?

Think about playing a video game - will you ever get to level two if you can't pass level one?
