  1. boiling water when poured into the cup with tea bag. the aroma comes off into the tea

  2. Who can drink scalding water? When I make tea, I use my coffee pot. I put a filter in it as though I'm making coffee. I pour water into it & let the machine make hot water. It's perfect temperature. I pour it in my cup & pop in a tea bag. Perfect.

Now if I make a pitcher of tea, I boil a gallon of water with 6 tea bags for regular tea, or 8 tea bags for decaf tea. Then I use one cup of sugar. (In my case....Splenda) I have to be careful with my sugar.

I don't recommend scalding water. Too dangerous. An accident would be havoc.

  3. Well, you should use water just on the point of boiling, actually. It's so that you don't burn the tea, that you don't destroy the integrity of the tea and it's flavour and nutrients.

  4. I don't think it is better

  5. I've never heard that. I use a tea maker and it does not boil the water.

  6. scolding hot water is not as clean therefore its safer to use boiling water. enjoy your tea x

  7. You want hot water to make tea with. Depending on the temperature of your water heater you may want to heat it in the microwave or on the stove. However, you do not want the water to actually boil. That is too hot for the tea.

  8. You're supposed to let the water come to a boil and then pour it in a cup and THEN add the tea... otherwise the high temperature will destroy most of the nutrients: antioxidants, etc.

Black tea is not as delicate as green and white tea so you can get away with a higher temperature but green tea and white tea need to be steeped at lower temperatures (just use a coffe maker or tea maker)

And DON'T use the hot water coming from the tap... it has more sediment (like nickel) and rust from the pipes and high temperatures than cold tap water does... Use filtered water.

  9. Here is a real answer. Boiling temp is 210 Fahrenheit. You really want your water to sit for a couple of minutes after it boils. Ideal temp would be 205 Fahrenheit. The tea needs the that heat to "cook" the essential oils in the leaves. That is how the flavor is developed and you are able to taste it. steep for no more then 3 to 5 min. Depends on the tea.

  10. Salutations,

the temperature is what does the trick. you get more out of the leaf at the boiling point.Happy sipping. Cheers

  11. Use almost boiling water

  12. Because if all you're doing is scolding the hot water, you can't make tea with it. You have to put the teabag in.
