  1. It doesn't matter.  Bad things happen to good people.  What I don't like is that she doesn't believe in a woman's right to choose, even if the pregnancy is caused by rape or incest.

  2. in my opinion it casts a negative thought on if she is capable of being President If McCain dies while in office ( if he is elected)

JMO - if Palin couldnt or didnt discuss abstinence or birth control with her own kid how can she control a Nation

added note- I raised one child to be a responsible mature about birth control adult

( no Grandkids out of wedlock)

  3. I agree.  It seems people expect the presidential and vice-pres. candidates to be perfect with perfect families and that is just not reality.  They are human, make mistakes and though they might have been good parents, their children do have a mind of their own.  Give them a break and focus on the issues.

  4. I do think this is important.  People of America have just up and decided that children will only born under certain circumstances.  This is proof that young women desire to fall in love and have children.  No law passed or circumstance will change that simple undisputable fact. Rather than battle human nature the birth of a child is always a blessing to be welcomed with open arms.

It is just a taught ignorance that would have women believe they could possibly gain a career prior to child birth.  The risk taken is never being able to have children, or being to old to have a healthy child.

  5. because it's considered statutory rape to have s*x with a girl under 18

  6. No idea. I think it was so that she could state she was against abortion with a legitimate reason so she could get more poeple to vote for her/McCain.

  7. Well, fortunate or unfortunate, it must be 'newsworthy' because the international media is also picking this up as news. It reflects the 'American culture'.

  8. It is somewhat disappointing to see the American presidential campaign descend into trashy family gossip.

Blame the media, they are the ones who decide what stories to air on TV and the newspapers. I don't think they are doing a justice to democracy, and the real issue which is choosing a leader for the good governance of the country.

Although I don't like Palin's policies, she is part of an average family which has its foibles like everyone else. I don't think you can pick apart someone just for that.

  9. it is not news worthy, but it is all they can find. The rest of the news is a blow by blow description of every rain drop falling out of that da%#ed storm.

  10. It isn't newsworthy and should be ignored, because it's a personal matter. HOWEVER:

If Clinton's daughter got pregnant out of wedlock while he was the President, I believe all the neocons in government and the media would have made a HUGE thing out of it.

  11. What's more newsworthy than that is the lawsuit against in Alaska regarding the state trooper she wanted fired.

  12. Just because a parent preaches about doing the right thing, doesn't mean that their own children will follow suit.  They can only hope that they do just like every parent does.

Palin's daughter being pregnant is not a scandal. It is a statistic.  One that is way too common in the United States.  Still the public at one points acts like it is a big deal and then acts like it is not a big deal in some cases.  This only proves that Palin is not immunized from the statistics of society.

  13. It is news because mother Sarah made it news.

  14. Because there are the self righteous besides the 'politically correct' in this world. The good ole U.S. of A. has their fair share of them as well.

It's all about gossip and inferiority complexes. If a man or woman of a short stature and little self respect can get some dirt on someone else then they feel superior to the one who has transgressed. They have an inferiority complex and it shows in their glee over superficial gossip they feed on.

And that is why Mrs. Palin's child is newsworthy, her "perceived sad state of affairs" makes them feel good about themselves.

The poor souls, they don't have a life.
