  2. Its dangerous to look at the sun normally, during an eclipse the light is intesified, thus causing damage to your retinas.  Ever hear of sun spots?

  3. It is dangerous because the lens in your eye focuses the sun to your retina much like a magnifying glass would on paper.  You can start paper on fire that way and in the eye, your retina could be burnt which would result in permanent damage.

  4. It is very dangerous to look at the sun even during a partical eclipse. You can only see the sun when it's totally covered.
