sounds to me? like he has not applied.......nor tried.

  2. Ah....I  assume you mean a UK approval of a Chinese citizen to visit. It's not quite a "Chinese Passport" since the it's the UK embassy that decides who goes and stays.

It's a complicated question, and it usually relates to several things about whether a person would violate the visa:

    1. How is the person related to you?

-It's usually easy if they are your parents. But if they are just your friend, then it's neutral. If you are dating them/opposite gender, then the odds are much much worst.

    2. How old are they?

-The older people have a easy time getting passports, b/c they tend to return once their temp visa expires. If they are a 21-25 year old female with single status, it's going to be nearly impossible. The are the biggest offender to temp visas.

    3. What are their connections in UK and China?

-Where is most of their family? Or, what connection they have in a foreign country? The more greater the connection in China and less in UK, the better the odds.

    4. Have they been overseas before? Even it's not to the UK.

-People who went overseas anywhere and returned w/o violations gets brownie points.

    5. How much money you have and willingness to sponsor.

-Generally, this applies to students. But this applies to you to. They just want to make sure if you are the one taking care of your friend that you don't feed them 99cents meals everyday and live in a cave. It helps to have sufficient amount of money for the both of you.

If you want to know more, get a immigration lawyer or talk to one (for free). Having a lawyer who has the credibility will be a great help.

  3. here's an excellent tip for your chinese friend eh.

bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe bribe

  4. They are worried if you leave you won't come back. If you are single with no ties, you probably won't get one. If you have alot of business and family ties then they figure you will return and shuoldn't have to hard a time. Good luck.

  5. Since China is a communist nation it can be very hard for their citizens to get passports. They control who comes in and out very carefully. The best thing I can suggest is for them to apply and hope it goes through.
