Why is it fun to answer other people's questions?

is it about the pleasure of helping others? is it about the freedom of giving uncensored views privileged with anonymity? or is it just for show offs? or is it about the satisfaction on the idea that you knew things that others dont? or is it just simply, a fun way to kill time..

I enjoy it because its a fun way to kill times ?  do you good to stay off the t.v. all day long ?  nothing good on it during the day time.  also going out to some where cost money spent !

All of those have some validity within this and other answer communities. But the main reason for why people enjoy giving advice is simply put, they like the feeling of running peoples lives. that is what i think.

it is fun and you are also helping others by your knowledge,so it is an great deed also.

we should share our knowledge to others also,knowledge and love increases by sharing it.no it is not wastage of time,it will give you ability to answer all types of question and will let you see many questions that raise in human mind.

I think it's fun, because it allows the one answering to feel like they're contributing to the world, deep down inside that's all people really want to do, just leave their mark. that's why the idea of a legacy is so prominent in our society.

Another answer might be to undergo a human connection. Never are people more intimate than with their problems, that's when they're most vulnerable, so to help them during that period of time is quite a bond however casual the internet may make it seem.

4 Me it's very simple. I never got the chance to answer the questions young people face today 4 my daughter. So whenever I try to give advice it's like I'm getting a chance to see if I would have been as big a s***w up as other people predicted.

I do enjoy the sense of helping others and the anonymity the best.

Whatever the case, I find it addicting.

I can't get into playing any vid. games, but this is fun.

I find it interesting because it may be a question that has been in the back of my mind for a while that i wanted to ask myself and then i see that others' have thought the same. As well as the fact that it is helping others of course. It is also interesting to see all the other different views that people have answered for the question too...

For me it is to:

1. Kill time at work and at home (I've just graduated with MA Psych. and before I go to 60 hrs week load during my internship stage I am taking a 1 year breather... partying got old so... here I am)..

2. A way to fight for my cause. Well, several of them..

For me,  sometimes it is fun time...then I answer playfully.

For serious questions...I express my views and get to see others' view-points--then it's learning time.

For distress questions...I like to offer solutions and hope it helps them.

It is never to show-off or be one-up...that's No Fun!
