Why is it hard to say no?

Question

I could never say no when people ask me to do something for them!

Anything elese I can say in a way of saying no.

say:

     "sorry, I'm over-committed right now".

     "sorry, I don't do that"

     "sorry, I've already made plans for that day".

     "sorry, I have some tight project deadlines".

If they persist, just say "Sorry" (again)..and turn away, hang up the phone, or whatever the situation calls for.

I have the same problem. I'm terrible at saying no.

I try to find a way of saying no with out saying no. Like say why you can't but don't say that you can't. Just say something like "Well I sorta have to..."

Well, If you have trouble saying no to people it would be very easy for someone to start taking advantage of you so first of all be careful with that! You are probably nice and just dont want to let anyone down. Maybe you are a very giving person and think of others before yourself but you cant do EVERYTHING... right? OK, try this; Next time someone asks you to do something try saying something like, "I'm not sure if I'm available to help on that day, perhaps I can give you a call and let you know for sure" Im not saying you have to lie, but maybe you can just tell them that you have other plans. If they are persistant and continue to bug you about doing things for them maybe they are already trying to take advantage? good luck

You don't have to say straight out no you could beat around the bush not lieing of course but just simply let them know in a nice way that as much as you would willing to do something for them that you just aren't interested.  And you have better things to do.

I'm afraid of the reaction of the person but once you build up the courage to say no trust me you feel a whole lot of weight  of your back and its not as hard to do it the second time but you need to take action quick cause people will be cruel and they will take advantage of you just say it in a nice way like I'm sorry but no or would it hurt to do it yourself????lol XD in fact you can try bugging thejustst as much like asking them to do stuff for you

but the truth of the matter idon'tnt be scared to say ndon'tnt fear their reaction fear is nothing but a four letter word

Thats b/c your too nice tell them that you have been helping them alot and you want a break

"No" comes in no other forms. You'll just have to be upfront with people. Don't allow anyone to walk over you. :)
