Why is it hard to shift into reverse, and then pop out. std tran

can motor mount be the reason it is hard to get in reverse,and when i do,it wants to pop back into neutrall

a motor mount most likley isnt your problem but can cause the linkage to be out of alignment and pop out. i would bet its your trans

It could be something wrong with the gear box  because my dad had his mazda BT-50 and when he was going down hills it would pop out into neutral and when he took it in to the machanic it was  a gear box problem.
