Why is it helpful to know about other forms of governments besides our own

I think some of our own politicians and American voters would do well to learn about our own government, including our history.  So many of them seem so clueless.

Because those who are ignorant of history are bound to repeat it.  

Communism and Socialism (for example) are often the governments of controlling and poverty stricken countries.  

America is a Republic.  It's worked for 200+ years.  Unless the citizens of America wake up and smell the roses, we may be electing the next crazy Dictator this November who already wants to be President of the WORLD.
