its not like that in any other state.. i am from west virginia and pennsylvania.. and i wouldnt live in virginia, due to that fact.. thats crazy and messed up.. i think thats overdoing it... i would have over $5000 in tickets for my five tickets i got in the last two years.. and someone gets a DUI here and its waaay cheaper than that.. thats messed up for a stupid little speeding ticket... i know its their law, but its a stupid one, i know that..

i never knew it was like that, until i was watching speeders a month ago and this cop pulled someone over in VA..

  1. That's not true! The $1000 abusice drivers fees were ruled unconstitutional in VA recently. All those who were charged $1,000 got their money refunded. Yes. Your ticket will definitely be over $150. But it will be nowhere near $1000.

  2. I remember when I was about 21 years old and drove through Maryland and Virginia. They have some of the HIGHEST fines you can imagine.

Their tax system is exorbitant as well!

This must be one way the state gets its revenue back from all the rich politicians that live there!

One thing for sure...living way down in the south...I'll drive the speed limit in that state if I ever return!

  3. I believe the $1,000 ticket is for people traveling 20 MPH over the speed limit or some such. Excessive in my opinion. Since 20 over is a $107 fine here.
