Why is it important for vet techs to have good people skills

Because we deal with the owners just as much as the pet. We take a history from the owner to find out what symptoms the pet is showing as well as educating the client on how to medicate the animal and on different health topics like vaccination schedules, flea/tick and heart worm prevention,etc. Also we do work with many other techs and doctors, not just the animals themselves. If you have a fractious animal you need help with the last person you want to ask for assistance is one whom you've ticked off earlier in the day! :)

Same reason you don't like a snippy nurse or a rude doctor.  

When your animal is sick, the last thing you want to deal with is a jerk.

to help people cope with grief when there beloved pet dies,be sensitive towards them,and not just see them as means of a income for there earnings.and how to know where or how to operate on a animal and give a full summary to the owner to what they are actually going to do for there pet(in way of a operation)
