  1. Could you imagine shuffling through hundreds of pictures of different sizes? The mess would be endless

  7. So they can rrrrrrreally see whatcha' look like.

  8. Because that's the industry standard.  All their filing systems are made for them.  If your picture is too big, it will be an annoyance and may disappear.

  9. As usual, you get a bunch of idiots making uniformed guesses.

    They're 8x10 so they can be filed easily, or at least that how it started in the early days of film. People would put the 8x10s in filing cabinets, the left long side down, and the name would be on the bottom right corner so that was what "stuck" up when they would flip through the drawers of 8x10s. Everything is done electronically now although I have seen people who still keep their 8x10s in filing cabinets.
