  1. I have heard it helps prevent a side ache but I am not sure.

  2. Cause when you breathe through your mouth your mouth gets dry and it make your throat dry and it makes you be thirsty quicker and you feel very dry so most likely you would give up the run faster than if you breathe through your nose.

  3. I believe it's to limit the amount of oxygen you breathe in. Why, I'm not sure. I know during the bike race in Beijing, the commentator mentioned that there was a higher level of oxygen in the surrounding air, which was a bad thing. Maybe it fuels cramps?

  4. elo, well see my coach (track & cross country) always tells me to breath  from your mouth no matter what, the thing is that if u breath from ur nose you don't get enough oxygen in ur lungs...and if u breath from your mouth you do,even though u do get a dry mouth but once you start doing it constantly u get use to it,  (your mouth does).

it also  depends what you run. if u run a 100 sprint its best to breath  from your nose, but if u run a 400 and up u may need to breath from you mouth so u can get more oxygen and not feel so bad after a run!!! but make sure u drink a lot of water before running long distance!!!!

but the most important thing is how u feel, its also up to you.

  5. so youre mouth doesn'tdry up, it warms the air up when you breath in so your throught doesnt get dry.

  6. Its not, you should breathe the way that you are most comfortable with.Don'tt try to imitate others it will make you uncomfortable. Sometimes I breathe through my nose but when I'm climbing hills I breathe through my mouth.

  7. It's not necessarily. The most important thing is to take in as much oxygen as possible, however is most comfortable to you.
