Coz only the leader is responsible for the whole nation. he takes the decission on the behalf of the nation. so if he is not good and make bad decisions then the country will suffer morally and economically. He has to be great in order to rule the country, otherwise the country will suffer.

Of Coz important to elect good leaders. However, it is not easy task for a leader to lead a nation. Bear in mind, you can't please every citizen. Moreover, global economy is getting bad every decision make affect few millions of people.
