Why is it important to have a diversified police

force? What are some barriers that must be overcome? What are the advantages and

  1. Diversity allows you to get the best of the best from the different cultures.  There is no one race or group of people that has a lock on everything.  If that were so, we would be a world of only one race.  Each group has something to offer, and it is the wise person who acknowledges it and takes the gifts that are offered and puts it to work.


  2. You know, when you are assigned homework, you are the one responsible to find the answers yourself and not ask someone else for their answer!  

  3. Simple, because people LE deal with are of all races and creeds and from all types of countries, many have their own customs and cultures and having officers that can relate to the minorities of the areas they patrol can allow them to have a dialog with the residents of that area not to mention the fact that if there are officers that grew up in cultured backgrounds they're likely to be bi lingual and can interrogate and question and take police reports from non english speakers.

    I don't think there is a disadvantage to diversity in law enforcement or any other job, diversity is what makes america great
