Why is it important to know how to navigate through a text book help teachers?

It's important to know how to navigate through a text book because if you know where to look for certain information you'll find it faster.  If you can find the answers to the information you're looking for, you'll be able to study more effectively and you'll finish your homework faster.  If you can finish your homework faster, it will allow you to multitask; by that I mean you can study multiple subjects and not have to worry about one or another dragging you down.  Being able to do the aforementioned will make you a better student, which in turn should result in better grades.
