  1. I don't think so, it is only your subconscious :):)

When the petrol prices increased you started noticing cars with high petrol consumption and wondering what are those going to do !

but don't worry. Many of those maybe expats in Egypt and normally their companies pay their petrol. the rest will be people with enough money and will not be affected with petrol prices.

DO you know how much is petrol prices in Europe?? close to 5-6 times the cost in Egypt.

In Saudi Arabia one liter is US$ 0.16

In Egypt one Liter is US$ 0.45 (correct me if wrong)

In Europe one Liter is US$ 3.3

So I guess, some people in Saudi and Egypt can still afford to drive big 4x4 cars.

The difference is that the Saudi Government can afford to subsidize the petrol prices, but how long will the Egyptian government hold until they can't anymore?

  2. On the streets of Cairo - there are no rules apart from the rules of the jungle.  It really is dog eat dog and the survival of the fittest.  Driving through Cairo is sadly one of the most stressful experiences any human being can come across when attempting to live a normal day to day existence in Egypt.

So it has become a matter of primitive strategies - the bigger   I am - the less chance you have of beating me at every turn.

The bigger my car is, the more safe and capable I will feel.

What is tragic is it also means the more SUPERIOR I will feel when driving through the jungle.

Ironically the petrol price rise has had no effect on helping the environment.

I hope that petrol prices rocket and become unaffordable to many more because this city and the people's attitudes to life and the world needs to CHANGE.

What about the environment?  Does anybody care?

At this rate the only 'jungles' left in the world will be on dangerous streets like this.

  3. No no no, simply , it is the summer holidays now in the Gulf area, lots of Arabs, and Egyptians who are living there are starting to come, lots of them bring their cars with them , and lots of them even drive those cars to Egypt from (Saudi Arabia ) as example,, there, they have big cars as the price of oil is not considered,, so they just use their cars in Egypt,, you will see more very soon as well

  4. tourists from the Gulf come to Egypt in big cars that can accommodate the whole family .

rich Egyptians also have big cars that they use in moving to far away places , ie , the Red Sea , the North Coast .

the price of oil doesnt  affect them .

    they can afford it .

  5. i think because people buy the cars to sell it after a long time by a huge numbers of (gold)

    And

yes there's who benefit from this increase

The Rich who have the right to bring anything are expensive and sell it here with a higher cost
