Question:

Why is it in mulicultural Britain that I'm the wrong colour / religion for my girlfriends parents?

My parents do not give any concern over what colour or religion my choice in partner is. Other than wanting me to meet the right woman.

Yet her parents do!

Surly it is double standards with the 'racist' thing?

My family are not & hers is - yet I just happen to be white...

  1. Indians are very caste, religion conscious.Sorry to write this,I find them so least in marriage and brides and grooms are brought from abroad to marry Uk girls and boys.Yes I agree with you.Yes race ,religion and colour are more important than White UK ciitizens as far as marriage is concerned.

  2. non ho capito un c***o però ti posso dire...prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!...

  3. Unfortunately some people are just irritatingly prejudiced.

  4. Ah, the great Western multicultural, "can't we all just get along" experiment.  But our leaders forgot that the mass of immigrants pouring into our countries may not want to play along.  And their children and grandchildren still may not want to play along.  They don't in their countries.

"Death to the West" in our streets.  Good going, leaders.  Good bye, Western world.

  5. Because some people still live in the past.

  6. Unfortunately white people have a bad reputation among the older ex colonials. Get someone else. And if I'm right, Multiculturalism actually means everyone doing their own thing.

  7. You may be a Management Accountant, but they are looking for one of the heirs of the Patak or Mital fortunes.

  8. Neither you nor your girlfriend are responsible for her parents' views

You are responsible for your response!   Do not respond racially.

  9. I suspect you've come up against the proud parent syndrome with a bit of class snobbery thrown in: "nobody will ever be good enough for our little girl."

Try getting together with a Swedish PhD when you're an ordinary merchant seaman. Until my partner's parents found out I actually had a degree they threatened to disown her if she didn't stop seeing me. And this in a country renowned for its social liberalism and open minded attitudes to relationships.

    Such is life!

    Addendum:

If that is the case and you love the girl do the shining white knight bit - rescue the fair maiden and marry her if she is willing. Good luck!

  10. I often get the wrong religion thing; I deal with it by ignoring it (it's amazing how often that helps).

  11. That is entirely up to them, you cannot force them to like you. You seem to think a Management accountant is something special, that may give you a clue. You probably come across as a pompous prat but they will be far to polite to tell you.
