  1. It isn't legal.

    If you're referring to campaign contributions within certain limits, that's not bribery and excluding some industries and not everyone else would be rather blatant and unfair but easily traversed through subsidiaries.


  2. It's legal because they don't call them bribes, they call them "campaign contributions".

  3. Not legal in the US. Some thinly disgused as donations to campaigns; but that makes it legal.

  4. They need the money to run for and stay in office so they pretend it's not a bribe. The money goes to their "campaign" and when "donors" benefit from the politicians actions, it's a coincidence.

    Google "Abscam" for a very famous case of politicians being sent to jail for accepting bribes.
