What would happen to offspring if this reduction in chromosomes number didnt occur?

  1. Well, since you get one set of chromosome from your mother and one from your father, you need to only get half from each to get a full set total.

    If you were to get a full set from both, you would have double the amount of chromosomes you need (and would die).


  2. chromosome number has to be halved bcoz the contribution from each parents.

    Female (n) mate with male (n) will have offsprings (each of them is n+n=2n).

    if the reduction of number doesn't occur that means....for example 2n + n equals.......3n or so. This causes a gene mutation.
