Question:

Why is it never George W Bush's fault?

Being a democrat all of my life, I have always been the first to admit it when one of the candidates I helped elect did something not in the best interest of the country. I have noticed that my republican friends through these eight years of declining US prosperity and the war have still never blamed George W Bush for any of it. They claim it is Clinton's fault (after 8 years???) or the democrats in Congress. They look upon McCain as the answer to our prayers to lead us through another four years of more of the same. I just don't get it. If George W. had been my candidate and I had voted for him not once but twice, I would actually be embarrassed to admit it first of all and secondly I would certainly be ready for change even if it meant switching to the other side. The good of the country is what matters, and in my belief the country is in pretty bad shape right now. Please someone out there explain to me the devotion to George W no matter what so I can understand why people seem to find no fault with him after these 8 years of US decline, but yet those same people were ready to impeach Bill Clinton because he had an affair. Like I said before, I just don't get it!

  1. First off, as a republican, I have to agree with you for the most part.

    It is GWB's fault.

And it's the fault of the Congress as well.  Both the current democrat-held Congress, and the republican Congress Bush had in his first term.

But there are a large group of republicans (now) that can't stand Bush.  I'm one of them.  You find that Ron Paul got an average of about 10% of the votes in the republican primaries overall... and I would venture to say that ALL the Ron Paul voters hate Bush just as much as I do.

I mean, any self-respecting republican SHOULD hate Bush.  He's really given our party a bad name.

    Republicans are supposed to be...

Pro-freedom - Bush passed the Patriot Act.  Bad for freedom in America.  Not to mention torture, secret prisons, etc.

Fiscally conservative - Bush increased the federal deficit by record levels.

    Anti-war - I don't even have to go there.

Anti-entitlements - Bush passed the prescription drug bill that we cannot afford as a nation.

I admit, I voted for Bush both times, but you can't label us all as Bush-lovers.  I hate the man.  But, I must admit... it was hard to overcome all the brainwashing you get from Fox News and Rush Limbaugh.

They tried their best to silence RP during the debates too... but he still won them... all of them.

I personally want to apologize to everyone for voting for Bush the Fascist.  Never again will I blindly follow the party line.  I'm not voting for McCain this time either.  I'll probably write in Ron Paul.  I don't care if he has a chance.  He's my choice.

He's the only candidate... republican or democrat... who wants to bring the troops home NOW.

  2. Because he converses directly with God, so if you have any problems with his policies, its God's fault.

  3. Because we've become ridiculously polarized. Its very hard to look past party lines anymore.

I consider myself a fairly intellegent person, and I find myself falling into the trap more than I like.

  4. its really everyones fault the president is limited to what congress gives him

  5. Talk about lack of experiece....

Does anyone even remember who/what gw was prior to his daddy buying his butt into office?  He was/is a business man.  (profiteering even today in all the oil mess, he is making billions on the side!!),

Only a puppet texas gov for short time to get into the white house and be puppeteered by the same ppl his daddy owned previously..

no one questioned his authority, experience or even his values...how about his patriotism...did he serve???

they all got their heads us their butts as usual..

  6. The righties are currently fawning over a potential VP who is an armed religious fundamentalist and believes that a Caucasian God created the earth 6,000 years ago.

    Forget about common sense.

    .

  7. It wasn't that he had an affair, it was that he lied under oath.  If he were to get away with that then ALL witnesses and defendants would be able to follow his lead and the sanctity of our court system would have been compromised.

Why is that hard to understand?

  8. it is

  9. I have studied people & understand things most people don't understand but I don't understand republicans either. Let's just be happy we have such great dems. I love what we have 3 families I can think of our Obama, Biden, Clinton & I know about Pelosi's family from Baltimore & she is really be treated unfairly. This family is a family with such a high level of integrity. So I suggest you don't waste your time & focus on what brings you joy. I have a great group of friends who are dems. I attend a spiritual center & our beliefs are in alignment with every dems believe. So find other people & you will enjoy your life more.

  10. Some people are really stubborn, but at the same time I'm surprised the believe McCain is the solution.

I'm not an Obama or McCain supporter by the way.

  11. cuz... hes a hottie with a body!!!

  12. I wonder the same thing!

Some people just have a hard time admitting when they are wrong I guess!

  13. check your data

"We've heard a lot about how Bush has mismanaged the economy, but there's no evidence of this. In fact, incomes began growing in 2003 after falling in 2001 and 2002 and have trended upward every year since. The small bump in 2003 was followed by gains of $2,291 in 2004 and $2,210 in 2005."

  14. They seem like die-hard republicans, only interested in partisanship. My dad is the same way.

  15. I'm a 16 year old Democrat and I argue the same thing with all of the Republicans in my school classes. It is ridiculous what he has done to this country.

  16. Because the Republican Evangelicals are the base of their party and they believe that Bush is guided by God, and since God can do no wrong, Bush can do no wrong.  It's like if you try to say that Jesus made a mistake - they will simply say that we lack an understanding of Jesus.  They apply the same illogic to Bush.

  17. It has been so long since we have had a competent president that anyone under 25 is too young to remember...they were 17 when Bush was elected.

Bush has lowered the standard so much that people forget what a focused government is capable of.

Bush has spent his time invading stuff and s******g with the Constitution.

  18. republicans are too busy blaming democrats for everything, and s******g over the middle/lower class.

  19. Some people just refuse to admit they made a mistake. I've spoken with many Republicans about it and honestly a lot of them to this day blame Pres. Clinton for the problems we face now. I don't get it either.

  20. Idk

  21. Because we don't take politics personally unlike you.  The president, any president, does not personally take blame for the events of the world. No one does.

  22. it is everyone dislikes him

    havent you heard the jokes

  23. Get your head out of the sand.  If you haven't gotten it by now you never will.

  24. Clinton got impeached for lying for a whole year. You need to understand just how much power a president has on his own. He would have to have 60 hours in one day and twice as many days in a week to commit all that he is accused of!

  25. From all the people complaining, I would say that he is blamed for a lot. But this is a hard time for the world.  Its a really hard job, being the president. I dont think people understand that you cant turn the country into a utopia in an 8 year period. I doubt the people who diss him could do better.

  26. I didn't know clinton had an affair!!! Fill me in!

  27. I will admit he has made mistakes

But you democrats blame him for a lot of things he had no control over

And we tried to impeach Clinton because he perjured himself

A crime you or I would have went to jail for.

  28. The GOP have always been good at slander and underhanded tricks.  Bush played on the religious zealots and stated "God spoke to him" Now if that doesn't get every bible thumper out to the ballot box what would?  During his re-election he used the "Oh, if your not for my war..then your against the troops...you must hate the troops." and he played on that.

  29. Its just like Republicans, we cannot redistribute the wealth, but we all must shoulder the blame.

  30. Republicans talk a lot about personal responsibility without ever actually acknowledging responsibility for anything negative, however they take credit for all the positives.  Personal hypocrisy more like...

  31. Um, have you been listening to the media? They blame George Bush for EVERYTHING. And it's all lies. Bush is not a bad president, no matter what Katie Couric and all of the other liberals on TV say.
