  1. I wouldn't say it's bad getting a rabbit from a pet store, i know people who got rabbits from a pet store and everything is just fine. I just think getting a rabbit from an animal shelter is better, because by adopting it you can save their life and it's often free.

  2. They are from breeding mills, often inbred and sick. You don't know what you're getting either as they usually lie and sell you unweaned babies.

If you adopt, you save a life and usually get an already neutered and litterbox trained rabbit

  3. You run a lot of risk of getting a really poorly bred rabbit with health problems that will show up later in life.. They are just about all from backyard breeders that don't care about or understand genetics..

If I was to get another rabbit tomorrow, I would either buy from a show breeder or adopt from a shelter that neutered them first..

Really, for a pet, neutered is so much better. The other benefit is they're usually already adults at a shelter and the genetic problems have had a chance to manifest so you don't end up with a rabbit that needs dental work done under anesthesia every 3 months..
