Why is it not many asian guys date/marry outside their race?

It just seems that way...you see alot of asian girls dating white guys or guys from other ethnicities....but not the other way around. It seems very rare? My Greek friend drools over asian guys and when she told this asian guy at work about it, he was really shocked, as if he'd never think a non-asian girl would like asian guys.

i live in the seattle area, and there are a bazillion asians. it seems like asian women tend to marry the ugly-average looking computer scientist men, and the asian men just marry other asians.

personally, i have never felt attracted to an asian.

Asian??? What do u mean by Asian? Asia is the largest continent and India is a part of it too. And Indians r different from other cultures. If u r talking about Indians, we have a very strong family bonds, social commitments and a marriage lasts for a life time. According to Indians the western people r wild without any family values, emotions and selfish, that they just ditch someone without any second thoughts. Thats why people here r not interested in western girls.

I think asian guys get anxiety with women of other races thinking they might get made fun of in bed. Or that they would get rejected.

Generally speaking, Asian women make the best wife. They are loyal to the husband, take good care of the family and hard working. When come down to marriage, Asian men would try to get an asian woman as the wife.

After I broke up with my ex fiance, a very smart Harvard guy, many women were all over him from white, hispanic to asian women.  So its is absolutely wrong saying that asian men are not attractive.

I had hoped to meet a nice asian man again, but I was unable to see any asian guys around until I met my boyfriend, a young doctor, a caucasian.

Sometimes it is not up to us even if we really want to get an asian man, because asian population is so small in the usa vs the far majority of white men around us.

I was wondering the same thing myself. I'm not Asian, but a lot of my girl friends are. None of them like Asian guys, although they've dated one or two in the past.

I never found them attractive, but in the past year I've seen two of them, but they were both half white...

Asian guys have been feminized and represented as weak in Western media. You always see men from other races being represented as very masculine and aggressive and people think of Asian men as nerdy. This is coming from a Chinese-American girl.

Media.

Asians only make up 4.2% of the US population according to the 2000 Census on census.gov. This means most people in the US see Asians on TV more than in real life. Even if you are not in the US, the media still holds a lot of power due to exposure. TV and internet takes up a lot of your time.

The media here tends to hypersexualize the Asian female, as a result you see men of all ethnicities thinking Asian women are always horny (think "me love you long time" from Full Metal Jacket). You also see a lot of Asian female coupled with other ethnicities on TV, giving the Asian females in real life a large confidence boost... even though they're only being objectified.

On the other hand, the Asian male is usually represented as nerdy, weak or evil. All in all you actually don't see many of them compared to other ethnicities to begin with. This can hurt their confidence, making them more reluctant to pursue outside their own ethnicity. They basically got discouraged by the media. This would also explain why your friend's co-worker would be so shocked.

If you're smart, you would wake up from the brainwashing and throw it out the window. However, this kind of thing works at the subconscious level and is hard to remove unless someone else points it out for you, and is also years of indoctrination by the media and takes time to reverse.

I have only seen Asian men with other Asian ladies or white ladies.  Well, I take that back, my Vietnamese friend dated a black lady when we were in Germany.  I don't know if they actually dated, or if they just did each other, but they were very close and slept in each others barracks room a lot.

My friend with a Spanish background has just married her boyfriend of 8 years, who's a Phillipino. They are avery happy together. And he loves her heaps.

We had a guy in highschool who had a Japanese background and he went out with one of myfriends, who is a blonde caucasian girl.

So I don't really see what you see :)
