  1. there have been lots of grave robbing of royalty. The Egyptian Royalty most have been grave robbed in the past. However, when they broke into Tutunkhamen it really was for historical interest. They did not rob the grave just put the treasures on display. To dig up other people nowadays is still not grave robbing, they are usually exumed if foul play is suspected. I believe that they respect the dead more now than they did in the past

  2. When a royal is disinterred, there is a legal purpose to do so;people who do so have permits to go ahead and do the job.Sometimes the purpose is to move the bodies to better crypts.Sometimes the bodies were not buried properly, like the Russian royals. The bodies have to be identified and reburied according to whatever royal precedent in place.

A grave robber is simply that--a thief. He has no permission to disinter the body and no good reason to do so.

  3. Since kings & queen spend their entire lives living in splendor at the expense and hard work of their subjects, they do not deserve to rest in peace.

  4. Because when you disinterr a King or Queen or anyone else, for that matter, with archeologists and police and other authorities, there is some legal or historical purpose to it.  If you go out to a graveyard in the middle of the night with a pick and a shovel, and surreptitiously dig up corpses, that would be grave robbing.
