I live in pa and will be starting school soon and I am from IL which is WAY better! For one thing people arent lazy the work ethic is grater and people get paid more. But No we like to do nothing and be Lazy like our teachers can give 79 years of homework but not enough tests to make sure we understand everything somethings are just pointless unless you want a job that requires then which you should then have to study on YOUR OWN! Case & point Biology. Who ever invented that idea in schools should be committed. Anyhow why are teachers allowed to strike when the make a decent living anyhow and their jobs arent that hard my dads a CEO try his job I bet theyd ber crying they are SO lazy! I think that its not fair we as students have to suffer the fact they dont make enough money to go to hawaii 2 a year. NOT MY PROBLEM! Bottom line: They chose the job deal with it! I didnt ask them to teach me they arent good at it better teachers in IL! All they can say is you better pass the PSSA's with 3's in Math & writing I am good but not good enough thats what they always tell me. The way I see it it's THEIR JOB to make sure I graduate MY JOB to learn it. How can I when the school years extended into the time I couldve been in 11th but because of them 10th will be longer.

  1. Teachers in my state are not allowed to strike..legally that is.

And btw..it is not a teacher's job to make sure that you graduate. It is the teacher's job to give you the tools to help you learn and become the best you can be, what you do with those tools is up to you. Right now it sounds like you have a big chip on your shoulder. If you tried and let them, teachers are teachers because they care, but you have to do your part.

You say you are in the 11th grade, it is time that you start taking responsibility for your own learning and graduating? You will find, my young friend, that when you get out in the world, no one will feel they "owe" you anything.

  2. Over half your sentences are run on sentences.

Your punctuation and capitalization skills are at a 5th grade level.

You obviously did not use spell check.

"Case & point Biology. Who ever invented that idea in schools should be committed" If biology was not taught doctors would have no foundation to build their knowledge on.

It seems to me that you are the lazy one.

Take the time to learn how to communicate effectively.

Do not brag to me about your dad being a CEO.  Just as his job has its drawbacks and rewards so to does teaching.

As you pointed out, IL teachers make more than PA teachers.

Strikes help teachers in PA reach the salaries of your IL teachers.  Maybe then they can bedder edumicate students like U.

  3. As I see it, you are implying that, You are smart enough to be in eleventh grade.  That, it is your job to learn the material, which, I assume, you think you are doing well. However, your misspellings and grammatical errors would indicate otherwise.

I believe we should be like the Europeans and track students starting in the sixth grade.  If they don't pass they get tracked to less complicated topics.  Some states already do this.  And we should get rid of the harvest/ planting length school year and go all year around.  Then maybe we, the US, will catch up with the Europeans and others concerning education.

  4. First, try paying attention to the grammar and spelling lessons from your teachers...I have a sneaking suspicion you will be in school longer because you have a sub-standard way of expressing yourself via the written word.

Second, teachers have the right to strike in some states because their respective state governments and the federal government permit it.  After dealing with spoiled brats like you in their classrooms, I'm sure you can understand why they may want to strike.

Third, it is not the job of your teachers to make sure you graduate; that is your job.  It is the job of your teachers to present the required materials.  It is your job to learn them.

Get over the fact that you don't live in IL anymore and take responsibility for your learning,..it's the only way you will get out of the school you seem to despise.

  5. Wow, that is really quite insulting to teachers.

Teachers are often the hardest working people around. Day in and out they deal with hundreds of kids, and with massive underfunding and overcrowded schools, and still make sure all of their students get a fair chance at an education.

Teachers are underpaid for the work that they do, yet many choose to do it anyway. They should not be penalized for wanting to help the greater good. They should get the same chance for a raise as everyone else in America, and when not satisfied the have the right to strike just like everyone else in America.
