PETA thinks it is wrong to kill animals but it is perfectly ok to keep them in captivity. Is there something wrong here?

  1. Well, does PETA protest it when a sick animal dies in the wild, or a Lion goes hunting? That's what is wrong. It shouldn't be a double standard. What about when an animal kills a human but doesn't eat them?

Death happens. I like to eat meat. Put them in cages and make me a sandwich.

  2. You keep your children inside much of the time because it is safe and you can care for them because you love them.  You can do the same with animals or pets.  We knew someone who always let their cat roam free outside.  It was eventually hit by a car, it suffered and died a horrible death.  Another kept their cat inside mostly.  It was given attention and cared for and lived a long healthy life.  You tell me, who took better care of their animal?  Captivity done right is often the better option.

  3. there is something fundamentally flawed in PETAs thinking. I respect that they are against animal abuse and misuse, but part of the very FOUNDATIONS of nature is animals killing and eating others for survival. Don't we essentially keep our kids in captivity until they are able to face the world? A domesticated bird wouldn't know how to find food therefore we care for it. Although children grow up and mature, domesticated animals need care forever. What PETA fails to realize is most abuse occurs WHEN an animal is in captivity. Its that thinking, similar to kill of 100 animals to preserve one endagered one, that really screws up the ecosystems. Thing go extinct, be killed etc. It's part of the natural cycle of nature.
