Why is it people never answer the phone when they say they will?!?!

I miss my parents. And they aren't answering their phones, or calling me like they said . . .

And I'm worried. -shrugs-

I have a college age son and your letter reminded me that I promised to call and be home when I forgot about plans I made.  I hope this reassures you that they do love you and if your parents are still together they might be enjoying a little time together or as in the case of my husband and I we have busier careers than ever because both our kids are on their own so we have more free time on our hands.  I feel so guilty because I have done the same and it is not a conscious thing.  I thank you for reminding me to call my son tomorrow morning because he is working tonight and I promised all week I would call.  If they are like me they are not ignoring the phone, but probably feel so guilty like I do now.  My husband has a daughter in college in Utah and my son is in college in San Diego.  We parents can get scatter brained too.  Just get a cute card to tell them you miss them and I bet your phone will ring from a guilty parent like me.   Best wishes to you and I thank you again for reminding me.
