depending on the person, kindness can be mistaken. For instance, someone who's been hurt on the inside will naturally shun society. Maybe even become a bully and such. Or some people are just mean and don't like kindness.

I think it's because most people are bitter and cynical. As a matter of fact, I was complaining to someone this morning that I don't smile as much as I used to anymore because I noticed people treated me differently when I smiled a lot. Like I was naive or a simpleton. I am neither - I have always had a positive outlook on life no matter what my situation, and when I'm a work I need to maintain a positive attitude.

This has also become a very selfish time. It's all 'me me me,' and when someone is generous it makes the other person suspicious...thinking...'well, what's in it for them if they are nice to me???'

it stinks.

but stay nice. overall it's worth it, despite the cynical jerks.

thats a greaaat question. at work, no matter how annoying the customers get, you still have to smile and say "oh thank you for telling us our burritos taste like **** to you. have a great day!" its annoying. i think that kind of kindness is actually strength because being kind with those kinds of people takes a lot of effort and patience! customer service is a hard skill, but i've mastered it by saying "take it to the corporation. thanks!" .. lol. hate it when customers get ticked off saying things like "THAT is a mondo burrito?!?! looks like a taquito to me." well take that mondo burrito and shove it up ur *** dont bullshit me about it.. i think i've said more than my share, lol. but yup, kindness in the worst situations is true strength!

If you are an outsider they usually become seemingly unkind as they stick to their social rules. Try to find those who think the same as you do and build from there.
