Question:

Why is it people think ending the war and cutting government spending will somehow help them out .?

I find it strange that people buy into the idea that the billions or trillions spent on the war would somehow have ended up being spent to enhance the human condition . That wonderful parks would have been built instead and that traffic jams would disappear as 15 lane highways would be constructed .

The government is simply a reflection of the people and most of them are greedy and only concerned with their own needs.

They will fund a new stadium and tax breaks on property to entice businesses into the community and at the same time raise the property taxes and impact fee's on new residences .

Nothing makes sense in this country until you begin to look at it from the stand point of the truly greedy , narcissistic point of view . If you have the resources you can pass laws to protect you from the rest of society . We all know everyone wants a free lunch on your dime .

SO lets end all the social programs that cost working people money and accept reality . No work no food .

  1. Are you saying you don't care how much of your money the government spends?  Or you's just rather spend it nation building in Iraq instead of helping American citizens?

Ending the war will STOP the spending of Billions each week.  This will decrease the deficit and increase the strength of the dollar.  This will lower oil prices (which are calculated in US dollars) and lower food prices.

    It's actually very simple.

Most of us would like the budget surpluses of the Clinton Administration.  If you're okay with record spending, vote McCain and straight down the Rep ticket.

  2. "No work, no food?"

How about you tell that to my bi-polar neighbor who has to be reminded to brush his teeth every day?

And whether or not the Iraq trillions would be spent on Americans is a given. Does the government spend in a wasteful manner? Yes, they do. Could the government be more efficient and competent? Of course they could.

The issue about the money spent in Iraq is that TAX DOLLARS SHOULD BE SPENT ON AMERICANS.

    That's the first thing.

Now HOW that money is spent is another thing - if you don't like how your tax dollars are spent, then get off the d**n computer and call your Congressperson and TELL them how you want it spent.

  3. Yes!  Let the hungry children starve because they have worthless parents.  Let's let the elderly die because they do not have insurance.   I just love hearing from compassionate people like you.  Makes my day!

  4. I agree, with the exception of the disabled, the elderly and truly disadvantaged children.  The only reason I would help an able bodied person would be if there was a good reason and then it should be short term only.  We need to stop cyclic welfare programs now!

There is too much pork spending for things like a  million dollars for a museum commemorating the drug fiasco called"Woodstock" or how about the $700,000 for research on a fruit fly in France?  Let the French research their own flies!  If we want to do research then lets find voluntary funding.

How about the road commission widening a road because they believed an ethanol plant was coming to your neighborhood, only to find out a lot of the scenery and trees was destroyed for naught!  The people who proposed building this plant backed out, and now our tax dollars were wasted.  Couldn't they have waited at least until the building of such a plant was in progress?

You are right, enough is enough.  I will say no to any further socialistic programs that are proved failures.

I also understand the ramifications of pulling the troops out now.  This needs to be finished properly, and yes, we will need to keep a watchful force there.  We are still in many parts of the world, and have been in some places for over 65 years.  It's called intelligence and being forwarned of threats to our safety.

    McCain in '08!

  5. well...in all fairness...you're on to something(besides ticking off liberals/hand out professionals).......you're correct.. notice it's always the fat kid in the family that thinks he's deprived, and underfed!...we also as parents call that 'spoiled' rotten. You're right...you're just unpopular in your question alone!!

  6. Some folks seem to think there is a direct connection between borrowing (as opposed to taxing and spending) billions and trillions to spend on the war and the falling value of the dollar which makes oil and all other imports terribly expensive.

  7. Are you at work right now?

I bet you're posting this BS on your employer's dime/
