Why is it people who have serious physical symptoms come here and ask if it is paranormal?

Its a type of denial, especially if there is a possibility that what is wrong is life threatening.

Sometimes, though, people are seeking answers to things that doctors either can't or won't diagnose.

It is a form of consolation to alleviate the fear they are having deep inside. Somewhat like a defense mechanism.

Unfortunately we have a tendency to put meaning to meaningless things, not saying that their symptoms are meaningless. They definitely should see a doc before coming in here. I go to a number of paranormal chat rooms and they do the same thing there. Sometimes I really think that these folks are in denial that they may have a medical problem and they try to make a meaning out of it. Kind of a form of denial I think.
