  1. Many medicines, especially antibiotics, are better absorbed when taken on an empty stomach.  Cipro, a fluoroquinolone, chelates(binds) to calcium, magnesium, iron and other metals.  Therefore, you do not want to take Cipro with dairy products, antacids, or many other medicines.  Chelate drugs can't   be absorbed by your stomach or intestine and therefore treatment failure.

  2. Should be taken on empty stomach as food delays absorption.

Ciprofloxacin is taken with a full glass of water. It works best on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

Ciprofloxacin should not be taken with dairy products or calcium-fortified juices alone, but may be taken with a meal that contains these products.

  3. I think you can take it with food or on an empty stomach. But you're not supposed to take it with milk or dairy products.

  4. Absorption of cipro is impeded when taken with dairy products . I don't think you have be on an empty stomach, though.

Are you taking any penicillins as well? ('cause these should be taken on an empty stomach, except amoxicillin.)
