  1. take them on an empty stomach and you will have your answer.  just gonna warn you that your not gonna like it. also think it has to do with helping to absorb the vitamins better. although you will pee most of the vitamin out.

  2. Time of day usually makes little difference (check the label for directions). But taking supplements with food is important because a little fat, in food, can facilitate absorption. A recent study at Oregon State University showed that very little vitamin E was absorbed when taken on an empty stomach or with fat-free milk. The same is true of beta carotene, even in carrots. People who ate a salad with fat-free dressing absorbed virtually no beta carotene; they absorbed slightly more with a reduced-fat dressing, and the most with a full-fat dressing, reports a new study at Iowa State University.

There are however some vitamins absorbed better on an empty stomach, such as iron. Here is a list http://nutrition.about.com/od/dietsforme...

  3. to make it work better

  4. they can make you hurl like a champ... been there, done that : )... aaaaaand it's good to take vitamin c or orange juice etc with food because you need vitamin c to absorb iron from food.

  5. It's simple. A process called synergistic effect will come to force.

  6. Some vitamins are used with water, others with fats.  If you take on an empty stomach, the stomach acid will provide neither & the effectiveness will be severely reduced &,in some cases, raw stomach acid will denature the vitamin & pass it through the system so that, according to your body, you never even took it.  This is also try of some medications.  If suggested to be taken with food, try to get a round meal for it.  All food groups, some liquids & fats.  This will assist your vitamins in doing their jobs.

  7. taking some things on an empty stomach can cause digestive upsets like cramping, bloating, gas etc. When you take them with food, it also aids with better absorption without the upsets!
